One way to do this is through advocating for patients, families, caregivers, communities, and members of the healthcare team. This is explored or related to the discussion topic through Student Learning Outcomes 4.

One example of how I have advocated for patients and their families in my nursing practice is through my involvement in a hospital committee that deals with end-of-life care. As a committee member, I have been able to share the perspectives and concerns of patients and their families regarding end-of-life care, and work to ensure that these perspectives are taken into account when making decisions and developing policies related to end-of-life care.

For example, I have advocated for the use of palliative care for patients who are nearing the end of their lives, as this type of care has been shown to improve the quality of life for these patients and their families.
