Reliability and Validity – Reliability and validity are similar but also different, thus a measure can be reliable and not valid. Job exit interviews have been found to be reliable but not valid. Explain why exit interviews may not be valid.

SOLUTION
Reliability refers to the consistency of a measure, or the extent to which a measurement tool produces the same results each time it is used on the same population. For example, a scale that consistently produces the same weight reading would be considered reliable.
Validity refers to the extent to which a measure actually measures what it is supposed to measure. For example, a test designed to measure mathematical ability would be considered valid if it accurately measures mathematical ability and not something else.
