Business Model Final Project

Goal: Conduct/construct an experiential evaluation/assessment of the business model of your organization (or one with which you are closely familiar) using the business model canvas and related text.

Introduction: Managers who want to improve the effectiveness of their business model and organization, as well as to increase their own ability to manage, use diagnostics/assessments to determine the reality of business effectiveness in comparison to what they originally envisioned. Good feedback contributes to the development of plans to improve business/organizational effectiveness and management performance.

Instructions: Students will write a 2500-3000 word (about ten pages in the main body) properly formatted APA paper (including a title page and the references page, but no abstract – use the attached template) that evaluates/assesses the overall effectiveness of the business model used by your organization. This is the third of three assignments that draw from your association with your organization. The previous two “canvas” assignments flow into this one. Identify one or more of the building blocks from the business model canvas where modification should be recommended. Be careful to avoid bias in determining the issue/problem identified by using the canvas. Do not merely critique but contribute to your organization’s overall success. This paper should be the culmination of the overall work you have done with the business model canvas so that all the pieces go together.

Your final paper should include the following:

· Your Business Model Canvas – Post-It notes discussion/observations (week 2)—summarize this area, but provide the initial canvas.

· Identification of theoretical/behavioral trends that you observe in the business model and organization (week 5)—summarize this, do not merely cut and paste.

· Discussion of appropriate theory, metaphors, and frames with which to describe your business model in operation, as well as to identify areas needing improvement and how to get there.

· Use the Osterwalder/Pigneur material to evaluate and diagnose your organization’s business model, as well as integrate the course materials into your writing and consideration.

· Recommendations for improvements were identified using the canvas, theories, and assessment tools used in this course. What are the expected outcomes?

· Use eight scholarly sources besides (especially case studies) to undergird your assertions from peer-reviewed literature.

· Thoroughly familiarize yourself with the assignment specs and ask questions if you are unsure of expectations.

The paper must have at least eight additional scholarly sources in addition to the course textbook. No abstract is necessary, but a title and references should be included. Write your paper in the third person, even though you are writing about an organization you are familiar with. To do this, write from the perspective of a scholar who observes and researches the case. Therefore, the first person should be avoided.

The organization to use is US Army Basic Training

US Army Basic Training

US Army Basic Training

Th US army basic training offers services and training that turns civilians into US Soldiers. Significantly, its activities are more focused on offering all service components, comprising of mental, bodily, and behavioral support. The business has made significant investments in its vehicle fleet and training facility. The trainees receive training in marching, rappelling, and teamwork. In particular, the task is physically and psychologically taxing. Additionally, there are enough professionals working with consumers on customized training programs (Colovic, 2022). The US government funds all the organization’s expenses, including wages, training, tools, vehicles, and fuel, therefore even though there is a great desire from individuals who want to enroll in the army, its economics is tight. In this instance, the organization’s revenue is derived from the services it provides rather than the goods it sells. The company’s culture is more customer-focused, employee-focused, and cost-conscious. Through its continuous accessibility strategy, it is also concentrated on providing its consumers with on-demand services.

The company is client focused. These businesses operate with the assumption that a diverse spectrum of customers can use their service. Monitoring their clientele demonstrates that the company serves consumers from a variety of industries, including graduates’ households and agencies. Their activities and offerings are quite varied, but they depend on what the recruits requires and select during admission. As a military training service industry, the cost to the customer should be determined by the type of services, the quantity of operations, the turnaround time, and the simplicity of servicing. Due to this, it bases its fees on the services provided depending on a variety of factors. They also focus their conceptualization on inventiveness (Holtström, 2022). Particularly, the company invests heavily in its staff’ training. Due to the nature of the organization, personnel may encounter non-standard specifications and designs when working in the field. Additionally, depending on who is assigned to lead the corporation throughout specific time periods, the firm may also adhere to different designs.

Few industry forces affect the firm. This business suffers no risk from competitors because it is the largest provider of basic military training services. Additionally, the business collaborates with other merchants of different goods that can be needed in the course of its business. There are no alternative solutions in this sector either. The US Army Basic Training systems must undergo routine maintenance and servicing, especially when functional issues emerge. The business has allocated enough resource to its activities. In addition to the market being large and easily accessible, the desire and requirements are anticipated to be constant or to grow since facilities and structures are being built at a higher rate than they are being torn down.

In addition to training a varied clientele, the organization receives funds to cater for expenses incurred by the recruits before and during the training period. It also features a variety of advantages that set it apart from its competitors and presumably make it superior. In this instance, it boasts a sizable, highly trained workforce. Additionally, it has extensive resources to serve a very diverse customer base. Additionally, the business enjoys a solid relationship with its clients. It has a team committed to serving customers, and it regularly polls them to assess potential areas for development. However, there is always the immediate risk that partners in service sectors will work with rivals (Mignon & Bankel, 2022). Additionally, the perception that the business is doing well could draw in a lot of new competitors and result in popularity. The organization’s strategic operations build a foundation for growing both operations volume and recruits experience. All season’s method is anticipated to boost trainees’ convenience and the number of actions the business can do in a given period of time.

The business model will help the company carry out the actions required to realize the attraction of additional customers or recruits. It simplifies the organization’s positioning in the market by improving a clear understanding of its value, client categories, and different revenue streams. Additionally, the corporation finds it simple to see the crucial facets of their operation and manage the crucial area as required. Additionally, being close to significant facilities boosts its responsiveness to and proximity to the needs of the successful recruits. The company connects with customers on a variety of venues, including social networking sites, whose popularity may help it grow.

US Army Basic Training, also known as boot camp, is a rigorous 10-week program designed to transform civilians into soldiers. The training includes physical fitness, weapons training, tactical training, and education on the values and customs of the US Army. Trainees also learn discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills. The ultimate goal of Basic Training is to produce soldiers who are physically and mentally prepared to serve in the Army.
