5 forces homework

My chosen organization is Chick-Fil-A. They are a fast-food chain which focuses on their customers and the community which they serve.

BUAD 4980 Homework Assignment Five Forces Industry Analysis Strategic analysis begins with an assessment of the external environment.

Research the industry of the organization that is the focus of your strategic challenge paper, and, following the format below, use the five-forces model (chapter three) to describe the competitive environment of the industry in which they compete.

1. Identify your chosen organization. In two or three sentences (make this concise), describe the industry in which your chosen organization competes. 2. Analyze each of the five forces as related to the industry. Include a sub-head for each of the five forces. Consider concepts related to each of the five forces from our slides and text. Do more than merely state the phrase from our slides; explain how it applies. As an external analysis, the five forces analysis is about how each of the competitive elements affects a firm’s industry. For each of the five forces, rank it as high effect, moderate effect, or low effect related to your chosen organization’s industry, and explain why you propose that ranking.

3. Finally, based on our five forces analysis, would you consider your chosen organization’s industry as attractive or unattractive? If you were leading a business, would you consider entering this industry? Explain why or why not. At the end of your paper, list the references you apply. Citing references in the text is not needed. If your chosen organization is a small business, identify the connections from which you drew information.

The Five Forces Model is a tool used to analyze the competitive environment of an industry. The five forces are:

  1. Threat of new entrants: This force refers to the ease with which new competitors can enter the market and potentially impact the existing players.
  2. Bargaining power of suppliers: This force refers to the ability of suppliers to influence the price and terms of the goods or services they supply to the industry.
  3. Bargaining power of buyers: This force refers to the ability of customers or buyers to influence the price and quality of goods or services offered by the industry.
  4. Threat of substitute products or services: This force refers to the presence of alternative products or services that can fulfill the same customer need, and therefore potentially impact the industry.
  5. Rivalry among existing competitors: This force refers to the level of competition among existing players in the industry, which can impact the prices, market share, and profits of each player.

Now applying the Five Forces Model to the fast-food industry in which Chick-fil-A operates:

  1. Threat of new entrants: The fast-food industry is a highly competitive and saturated market, with established players like McDonald’s and Burger King having significant brand recognition and a strong presence. It can be difficult for new entrants to compete with these established players, which creates a high threat of new entrants. However, some new players have been successful by offering niche products, such as healthier options, and creating a unique brand identity.
  2. Bargaining power of suppliers: The fast-food industry is highly dependent on a number of suppliers, including food suppliers, packaging suppliers, and others. However, due to the high volume of goods required by the industry, the bargaining power of suppliers is relatively low.
  3. Bargaining power of buyers: The bargaining power of buyers is relatively high in the fast-food industry due to the presence of a large number of customers who have many options for fast food. Customers can easily switch to alternative options if they are not sat
