The correctional officer personality that best describes me would be the reformer. I believe that it is essential to focus on rehabilitation and helping inmates to become productive members of society after they have served their time. I would advocate for programs that provide education, job training, and mental health services to inmates to prepare them for life after incarceration. I would also be interested in implementing evidence-based practices to reduce recidivism rates.
The strengths that my personality type would bring to the job would include a strong belief in rehabilitation and a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of inmates. As a reformer, I would be motivated to seek out and implement new programs and initiatives that would improve the outcomes for inmates. I would also be likely to have good communication skills, which could help me to build relationships with inmates and other staff members.
