SOLUTION
The safety concern I have chosen to teach is drowning prevention for children aged 1-4 years old. This age group is at high risk of drowning due to their exploratory nature, lack of fear, and inability to understand the dangers of water. Developmentally, children at this age are in the sensorimotor stage, where they learn through exploration and sensory experiences. This means that they are more likely to approach water sources without understanding the risks involved. I believe that teaching drowning prevention is essential because it is a preventable cause of death and disability in children. The target age range for this educational teaching is 1-4 years old, as this group is at the highest risk of drowning-related injuries. Teaching children at this age can have a lasting impact and ensure that they develop safe water habits that will carry into adulthood.
