One way that cultural relativism can affect society is by promoting greater tolerance and understanding between cultures. By acknowledging that every culture is unique and has its own way of doing things, people can learn to appreciate the diversity of the world and avoid making hasty judgments or assumptions about other cultures. However, cultural relativism can also lead to moral relativism, which is the belief that there are no objective standards of right or wrong. This can lead to a lack of accountability for harmful practices within a culture, as people may argue that these practices are justified by cultural norms and values.
