Response to Racial Tensions
Managing crises and conflict can be both similar and different. As an educational leader, you will have to know how to navigate both.
This topic may trigger opposing and/ or passionate arguments. In this discussion you are asked to be respectful of the opinions of your classmates. If you feel the need to disagree, do so respectfully and acknowledge the valid points in your classmate’s argument. Acknowledge that others are entitled to have their own perspective on the issue.

After reading the article by Sanchez (2018):
1. Write 2-4 well-developed paragraphs, addressing the points below. Cite evidence from the reading or other scholarly sources.
○ Given what you have learned about conflict management and relating with diverse stakeholders, what do you think the school/ school system did well?
○ How might the school/ school system have responded differently? ○ If you were the principal or superintendent, how might you have
responded to avoid such negative publicity? ○ Any other thoughts after reading this article.
Remember to address this from a public relations perspective.
