Self-assessment helps leaders to identify areas that require improvement, gain insight into their personal leadership style, and develop new skills to enhance their performance. Self-assessment also enables leaders to understand their impact on others, how they communicate, and how they can influence others positively. For example, leaders who practice self-assessment can identify their communication style, recognize when their communication is ineffective, and adjust their communication approach to ensure that they are understood. Self-assessment also helps leaders to understand the needs and expectations of their followers, build better relationships, and create a more positive work environment.
