SOLUTION

The study found that facilitators of patient-centered care included a focus on the patient experience, a culture of patient-centeredness, leadership commitment, provider and staff engagement, and effective communication. Barriers to patient-centered care included a lack of resources, competing priorities, resistance to change, and a lack of understanding of patient-centered care.
